The Great Hillbilly Giveaway of 2008!

Contest is OVER! We Have a Winner! Click here for more info!

Robin and Auntie Di were hitting the 'mash' pretty heavy one night when they overlapped into each others' work space.

Suddenly Robin shouted "Hey! You put your candle on my coaster!", Di yelled back "Naw! You put your coaster under my candle!". They both looked at each other and said "Hey, that looks pretty darn special!"

That first idea was a pretty good one but the next idea - not so bright. They've decided to give away this adorable combination to one lucky person who is willing to play their game:

"Hillybilly Homebrew"

1) Go to Auntie Di's ETSY store and find your most favorite item, come back to THIS blog and post a comment here about it on this post!

2) Go to Auntie Di's BLOG and follow the directions on her "The Great Hillbilly Giveaway of 2008!" blog post.

3) Want to
DOUBLE your chances of winning? Also suggest on BOTH blogs a new candle/coaster combination you think would be cool!

You have to go to both blogs and complete the steps to qualify for this give away! Our cousin Billy-Bob can READ and COUNT so he is keepin tabs on you guys!

** The drawing will be determined by a random number generator (not Billy-Bob) on September 19th at 10:00 EST.

Y'all get busy now!

** Offer open to US addresses ONLY - We'd like to ship to the whole wide world but there's only $5 in our piggy bank and the whiskey still hasn't turned a profit yet **

This ring is just gorgeous. I love the black and green swirls.

I'm not Nemo - the Clown Fish Critter Coaster and the Fuzzy Navel candle.

They are both orange and my daughter adores clown fish. (She loves Nemo! Even though he is not Nemo. LOL)

My favorite item is the Southern Summer 16 Ounce Hand Poured Soy Wax Candle. Mainly because I live in and love the south. I am curious to know what we smell like. Not sure what to expect, bad or good!

PLEASE LET ME BE THE WINNER!!

To double my chances I would love to suggest a candle that smell like new shoes. All though that might be bad because then everytime I smelled it I would have the urge to buy new shoes.

So a combo that would be awsome, why fresh cut grass candle with a green Moo caster (Since they eat grass) or a lawnmower coaster!

My most fave item in Auntie Di's is the roadtrips necklace--very sassy ;)

I think a good coaster/candle combo would be to have an orange cinnamon-y type candle on a squished turkey coaster

Man, talk about making it hard to choose!

I finally settled on this bracelet as my favorite. The blues are gorgeous.

As for a coaster/candle combo? It HAS to be a monkey coaster with the monkey farts candle. What a hoot that would be!

My combo is the Lime and Tequila candle - yum, with the Gander the flat elf - (from drinking the tequila) -I'm laughing at that.

MMMMM. My favorite would probably be the vanilla cedarwood candle.

What a fabulous shop! Thank you for introducting me to AuntieDis!

I absolutely LOVE the Zen Relic necklace, and this vanilla cedarwood candle sounds like pure bliss! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15058506

I think a great candle/coaster combo would be to combine an Elvis coaster with the Blue Sugar for men (blue suede?) candle, or any other late great celeb with complimentary scent.

step 1. i like the monkey farts candle. because we're all so far in denial that we think monkey farts smell like bananas.

w said...

step 3. to increase my chances. i think the croak frog coaster and the tequila lime candle would go great together. because the frog obviously had too much tequila.

Lucky Girl said...

I'd love to try the Lime and Tequila Candle!

Is it okay if the combo I want to suggest includes something that's not in one of the shops? I'd really like to see a Groovy Patchouli candle on a flat bellbottom-wearing hippee coaster.

Oh my goodness- I have the PERFECT idea for a coaster/candle combo. I am a Girl Scout leader, and it is nearly impossible to find a good gs theme gift for the ladies at our council office. Those women work their butts off for the girls with little recognition. So, a THIN MINT scented candle on a (are you ready?) CRUSHED BOY SCOUT coaster! :) :) :)

Ok- my fave product on the Auntie Di's site? That What Happens in Vegas bracelet- black/white with touches of crimson are so gorgeous.

great idea, ladies!

Hi, I adore the "What Happens in Vegas Bracelet!" Please enter me in your delightful giveaway drawing. I really appreciate it! Many thanks, Cindi
jchoppes[at]hotmail[dot]com

I think a flattened coffee cup/mug
would be cute with a cafe mocha type candle.

windycindy said...

I think the "Gobble Gobble Flat Turkey Coaster is adorable. I also think Christmas flattened themed coasters would be fun! Santa, Christmas Tree, Ornament, and Mrs. Claus!!!!! A Peppermint, Cookie, Pine, etc. candle would work for the holidays. Also, a spicy scent. Thanks, Cindi

Ok this is fun! I just discovered your shop today thanks in part to my daily ritual of reading the forums which brought me to Auntie Di's blog...lol

My favorite item in Auntie Di's shop is the Retro Bloom Lampwork Ring. It's always hard to choose a most favorite from either of your shops because there are so many great things to choose from.

For another combo, based on what is in your shops now I'd say,

Grannys Swingin Nog Soy Wax Candle 8 Oz and Fig the Flat Elf Christmas Coaster

Way to go you two!

I liked AuntieDis "Lone Saguaro Ring" since that is the cactus here in AZ. Learn that on my trip to the Grand Canyon.

Now...the mixture of the two...I would say the Cactus Soy Candle 16 oz with a Flattened Cactus Coaster.

What can I say...I am from AZ.

Great shops!!!

Tina

Ok Robin...Gotta make a coaster with a fire extinguisher to be part of the coaster, candle combo... What flat critter wants to risk getting burned? Must have protection against the flames, you know...
