My First Art Show!

It has been a really long week; lots of meetings to get our new Feral cat Volunteer group efforts off the ground and a little trapping thrown in for good measure. I was really looking forward to Friday, the opening night of a new Juried Art Show, "Inspired by Kadinsky", where I have two paintings on display. We left early to run some errands...

No, I'm not that tired - We're just shopping for a new mattress...

We arrived at the gallery around 5:30.

Two of my good friends also have paintings there so I began looking for Erika. We were both so excited to see the amazing art on display and to see our own pieces hanging there as well.

We found Chuck and Erika near Carol's painting "Bottled Up People". Here are some other shots of us posing with our paintings:

Robin's "Kitty Kitty"

Erika's "Jazz Festival Series - Red Piano"

Robin's "Maestro"

Carol's "Crucifixion/Resurrection on blue and green"

Erika's "Jazz Festival Series - Red Saxophone"

Now it's time to get ready for another Gallery show at the beginning of October. I really should be painting right now...

That's so neat! I've never had my work in a gallery, but it must be exciting to see people ohhh-ing and awww-ing over your lovely works :)

Thanks Angie, it was kind of cool to listen in on some of the crazy interpretations people came up with!

Congrats on your FIRST show. It looks as if it went off very well. I wish you many more shows...but I wish those shows to be dedicated to just your work.
