Geocaching in Georgia

What do we do on vacation? Travel with friends, visit with family, roam around in the woods with a GPS looking for hidden boxes?
Welcome to Geocaching - a good reason to get outside, get some exercise, and use your brain.

Today we spent about 3 hours wandering the woods north of Amicalola state park in Georgia. We were looking for an ammo canister filled with a notepad (to record your discovery of the cache) and some swag (cute things like coins, small dolls and trinkets - take one leave one behind). We left the house in a hurry this morning and did not record enough information to successfully locate the cache. We ended up empty handed today but had a great time wandering in the woods and playing with the GPS. We'll be sure to be more prepared the next time and hope to find this cache eventually.

We've been geocaching for years! It's a lot easier now with these small, high-tech GPS handhelds!
Good luck on your next find...

This sounds like a lot of fun...I will have to see if there is anything like this in AZ.

Oh I want to try this so badly when hubby gets home! I've heard a lot about it. Not really sure how it works, but still want to try it!
